  • Right to Privacy: with regard to accommodation, medical treatment, written and telephone communications, visits, and meetings with family and other residents
  • Right to Confidentiality: between staff, other Service Recipients
  • Right to Accommodation of Need: right to have personal needs and preferences provided for to the extent that they do not interfere with the rights of other residents, cause an unsafe environment for staff/others, or in opposition of ALA best practice policies
  • Right to Grievance Process: right to object to any treatment or care which has been furnished, with assurances that there will be no reprisals for voicing grievances which must be resolved promptly and fairly
  • Right of Refusal of Service: right to refuse service if do not feel staff are capable/properly trained/orientated, although Service
  • Recipient must realize the
    limitations of the Service with regard to available staff
  • Right to Direct Orientation for Service: right to self-direct care at all times will include the direction of new staff during orientations; right to instruct regarding preferences, etc (excluding specific medical advice or if self-direction negates a
    specified delegation by Home Care)
  • Right to View Documentation: files, etc that pertain to themselves
  • Right to Expect Limited Exposure to Illness: Service Recipients may request ill staff (colds/flus) to wear masks (available in staff office) to avoid potential spreading of germs during provision of services
  • Right to Refuse Practicum Students Entry into Home(s): Service Recipients may request that students not be present in their home(s) while they receive services
